Shearwater Capital has led the Series A investment in Factory, a Sydney-based software company building workflow and job management tools for metal fabricators and small manufacturers. Factory replaces paper, spreadsheets and generic accounting systems with a purpose-built platform that manages quoting, scheduling, inventory, job tracking and invoicing in one place.

Our conviction begins with the founders. Brothers Paul and Michael Lutkajtis bring a combination of product, software and hands-on manufacturing experience. Their background in a second-generation fabrication business has shaped a product that reflects how these workshops actually operate.

The manufacturing SME sector remains materially under-digitised, particularly at the smaller end of the market. Factory has started with sheet-metal fabricators and has a clear pathway to broaden its product and expand geographically over time. We look forward to working closely with the team as they build practical, reliable software for an industry that has been underserved for decades.
